While doing physical training this morning( today was a six mile ruck sack march, the ruck weighed approximatly 75 lbs.) I noticed that after my cool down and streaching exeorcises that my knees where aching pretty bad, not all over just in the front under and around the caps. I am paranoid about my joints and the first thing that popped into my mind was that I am straining my patella tendon, does this sound close or could it be something else?
Thanks,

I would try a heat rub (Ben-Gay) before exercising, and then ice afterwards.
I'm recovering from a knee injury and going to physical therapy every week. After each session (we're now in excerise mode) we ice it down for 15-20 minutes. Takes a lot of swelling and pain away.

Ice for swelling, heat for stiffness. You can also alternate ice for 15 - 20 mins then heat once the swelling is gone.
You may want to try a Patella strap. I've never used one but several women I played Vball with in College swore by them.

Ive started therpy for my knees also. Befor exercising we use heat about 15 min., then exercise. After do all my stretching (about 20min worth) then ice for about 10-15min. Im in therpy for patella something lol, all I know is that the keen cap isn't ridding in the grove its supposed to and is bone agains bone. . . painfull.
