Carb problems/350 warrior fourwheeler

I have this basketcase warrior, most of it is an 1989 but, its a POS and I bought a brand new motor, stator, carb, and vavles. The carb didnt come with anything, so I used the old ones from the broken carb. I have been woking on this for almost a year now, finally got it running today. Now the problems come, I am on my 3rd hnad ground fly wheel key for the key way, I am extremally lean, on the plug, and the started likes to break the flywheel key. Can anybody gives some advise(valve timing, carb settings, anything useful
)?

The Timing is not wrong. I've done it three times. I checked it twice everytime.

First thing would be to purchase an OEM flywheel key. They are made from a very hard material and may not shear like your hand made ones. When you grind one by hand, they usually don't fit the slot very good and the heat produced in grinding will reduce the temper in the metal making it softer than it should be. Also make sure the taper on the end of the crankshaft and the taper in the bore of the flywheel is clean and smooth and matches properly.

Then, purchase a service manual.

Then, read the service manual.
