xr400 forks on 01 kdx?

I'm thinking about trying this swap. Has anyone else done this mod that could give advice?

Lots of people swap just the springs, but I'd be surprised if anyone has put an XR400 front end on the KDX.

IMO, the XR400 forks are not very good, and lots of XR400 owners put on different forks (like from an MX bike). If you are going through the trouble and expense of a fork swap, I would encourage you to find a donor bike with better forks.

do a KX fork swap search, upsidedown KLX forks will work too but are only better because of less underhang.
