blown fork seal???

came back from riding today and when i got home i noticed that one front fork was leaking quite badly, there was a puddle in my truck. is it a blown fork seal and if so what is it gonna take to fix it?? im clearly new to all this so go easy on me, and what can i do to prevent this in the future, am i supposed to bleed off the forks before securing the bike down in the truck??

You will probably need to simply change the seals. Do them both, and get it over with. Do a search here and on thumpertalk, there is a really good illustrated tutorial that will get you through it.

For a temporary fix, you can use a film negative (from an old camera) and run it between the seal and the inner fork tube. Spray some contact cleaner at the seal and run the negative between the tube and the seal. As long as you didnt lose too much oil this may give you a temp fix. It works if you cant repair it before you need it.
