choke problem

my crf450r starts first kick if i leave it out in the sun but if it is cold it just wont start. i dont think the choke works because it doesnt realy make a difference when i try and start the bike with it on. can some one help me with this? what should i do to fix it or should i just take it to the shop because it is to complecated?

take the carb apart and clean it! Clean the pilot jet, main, leak and all the 1 way valves in the bowl and carb body
