need info on some trail bikes.

hey guys. ive been looking on the internet for a few hours trying to gather some info on 2000-2004 xr250s, 2000-2004
xr400s, and 2005 crf250x. ive been trying to find hp, torque, and seat height and dry weight. ive found somewhere that said the xr's have about 30hp and 18 foot pounds of torque. thanks for any and all help.

-mike.

Why? I can understand the seat heat. The XR400 is very tall in the inseam, taller than the specs state

Seat height:
crf250x - 37.7, 253lbs
Xr400 - 36.6 (says on lowest setting, I assume with no preload on the spring), 257lbs
xr250 - 34.4, 262lbs

For HP it is the same. XR250, then more is the xr400 and then the CRF250. Now the CRF250x is a corked beast. If you open it up it will rival the xr400. But the maintenance is 10x of the XR. The CRF also feels the heaviest of the bunch, but does have E start.

Just depends on your riding. If you are doing trails only, the XRs are hard to beat. Very little maintenance and no radiators to have to smash up. The 400 is a tall bike.

if you do a little of both, the CRF-X models are great. Actually the 450 is only 15lb heavier than the 250, but the 250 feels heavier personally. I have riden both back to back and the 450x in stock form is very mellow and once you are moving, you dont feel the weight. I have even done 80' triples on one in the local arenacross. So they are capable bikes.

thanks for all the info. my cousin owns an 01 xr400. it is heavy and sorta tall. but im used to riding my cr so its not bad. im looking for a bike that is very comfortable seat wise.
which i know the xrs have. im going to be chugging through single track and other tight rutted and rooted and rocky areas with some loam and what not mixed in. i dont need the bike with the most power. i was just getting an idea of all the bike because ive ridden the xr400 and i wanted to see how close the numbers were. thanks for all the help.

99 cr250 is a great bike for doing what you are riding in. Just gear it properly and if you like add a flywheel weight
