gearbox woes
gday all, alex from australia.
just got my 99 kdx200 running with a fresh clutch and was running great until BANG!!! half a gear came flying though the bottem end casing.
so its safe to say im after a gearbox or bottom end for mine. what year range gearbox will fit the 99 models?? and where is the best place to find them??

check ebay. yours should be able to use 95-03 engine cases. Same should go for tranny components as well. Anyone think/know differently?

Yep, anything 95+ will bolt right up.

I had to replace my output shaft, and did some digging on the parts pages (i.e. servicehonda). I was able to work out that about 80% of the tranny is the same between the 1990 and the 1995 and up models. Somewhere at work I have a printout highlighted with the parts that are common...
So depending on which you need, that could be an option, and when I was lurking looking for the output shaft, the 1990 to 1994 trannsmissions were easier to find then 1995 and up.
