Yamaha ttr125L
I am looking at a Yamaha ttr125L on ebay and it is going to be my first bike. I'm about 6'1" and 175 pounds. Will this bike be enough power for me?? Is this a good quality bike??
Thanks for the help!

Quality is fine. They are fun little bikes. But after your learn, it will likely be a little undersized and short on power for your size. Having said that, if you just learn to ride on it and then decide to upgrade, you probably won't lose much--if any--money when reselling it unless you wreck it or blow it up.

you cannot ride a ttr125. it is way to small for you. i would look for something more along the lines of an XR250.

Sure he can, I had a blast on mine.. of course it's a mini and a ton of fun with that in mind. Understand that the TTR is not a full size 125; it's a learner/kid's/trail bike better suited for the back yard, than a mx track.
Maybe check the "What Bike Do I Get" section of DRN to get some advice.

I'm 5'10" 165ish and the wifey's ttr125l will haul me anywhere I point it. It doesn't do it quickly or easily but it does it. I've been up some pretty nasty climbs with it and it hasn't let me down yet. My 190+ lb bro-in-law also rides one. His has YZ85 front end and heavy shock spring as well as BBR big bore. It is a very even match to me on the stock bike. They make great play bikes, but for any serious trail riding or jumping look for a bigger bike.

At 6'1" your knees are going to be up in your chest as you ride. That bike has a 32" seat height and you should be on a full size bike with a 38" seat height.
I know a lot of people that will mess around on their kids/wife's bike. Yeah, they can ride it but it certainly isn't a good bike for them and I have seen a lot of people hurt themselves when they bottom out the suspension and then go over the handlebars because their center of gravity is too high.
You won't be happy on a TT-R125 for very long.
If you are looking for an inexpensive four stroke dirt bike to begin on then you should look at the TT-R230. It is a couple of inches taller and the suspension will handle your weight, although it is still a bit lacking in the suspension department.
If cost is a major issue then I would recommend looking at a two stroke, 5 to ten years old. There are a lot of bikes out there that still have a lot of life left in them and will give you a good ride for several years. Two strokes are a little harder for a beginner to learn on but once you learn it will serve you for a long time.
If you have the budget you should consider a 250 four stroke, such as the Yamaha WR250 or the YZ250F.

It depends on what kind of riding you are planning on doing. If you're going to ride for fun, just to mess around from time to time and not get into anything too serious, the TTR would be a great bike. I am 5'5" and I ride a TTR125LE. Sometimes I feel a little too tall for it when I'm on a serious trail ride, and that's with the BBR triple clamp. If you're planning on riding MX or any technical trails you may want to consider a larger bike. My husband is 6' and in times has had to get the TTR out of sticky situations for me and he doesn't like it - he says it's too small for him.
