A Question for anyone involved in Retail Sales
I'm in the process of starting my own business which invloves retail sales. I'm trying to figure out what software options I have for keeping track of inventory and sales. I want something that will keep a running inventory of products on hand and have the capability of networking and online sales. I also would like to have that same software print out invoices and sales receipts and work with a cash register. Basically, I'm looking for a software that will do it all. I want a good software that I can trust and be serviced if I have problems. I don't want to spend half my day trying to fix my sales software. This will be a small business with probably 3-4 computers networked together. I'm a newbie to retail sales and would just like to find a starting point.
Thanks in advance.

Funny, I refer to a lot of my software as "POS". And that doesn't stand for Point Of Sale!

Bell&Howell's Lightspeed System is very good if you are opening a bike shop. It does everything(parts, sales, service, accounting) I like that system, we use it at the shop I work for. Where at in Western Ky are you from??

Lou, I shoulda known you'd make a wise crack like that!
Dave, I'm in Paducah. You wouldn't happen to work at Abernathy's would you? I was just down there a few weeks ago. I bought my 426 from a guy in Jackson. We met at Abernathy's to complete the sale.
My business will be a Wheel & Tire/Auto Accessories business. I'm going to try to deal in motorcycle tires as well, and hopefully later be able to branch off into bike parts.

Hey CAL, thats where I work. I know the guy you bought the bike from, he bought a new CRF from us the next day. If you know anybody else looking for a 426, we got a really nice '01 model traded in. Very clean bike. see ya!

I'm actually a project leader for our company's POS development. But I would'nt recommend OUR system...
POS doesn't always stand for Point of Sale.. especially in my case.
