For Sale Forum Change Effects Everyone ... READ
As of today, only Subscribers. SupportTeam Members, Mods and Admins will be able to post items for sale. Everyone will still be able to reply to threads. There are reasons for this change:
1) We have a lot of people signing-up just to sell items to DRN members. The requirement of subscription will cut down on this problem.
2) We have dealers trying to sneak items into the forum, this forum is NOT for dealers.
3) If you are using my money (bandwidth) to sell your stuff, the very least you can do is subscribe to the forums for $14. I doubt the ad in your local paper or cycle trader is free. With the rising costs of this site, ads can't be free here either. Maybe it sounds harsh, sorry. Gotta do what I've gotta do.

I think it s.....well, you know.
Im just an average 'Joe' that lurks around the site from time to time.
I may have something someone else needs or need something myself.
The little guy(me) has to suffer cause the big guy wants to do some free advertising? Just aint right.
Maybe you can start another forum for 'dealers' and charge them a one time fee to list. That way the regulars can do some honest trading.
Sorry to be so harsh, but thats just the way I feel.

Geezuuus... it's 12 bucks - a tank of premix.. I run mailservers and listservers in my business and I can tell you it takes a wad of time and money to do this and THIS ONE is done very well indeed!
I joined as a subscriber about a month ago and have converted my subscription to a lifetime member last week because of the:
1. Great people I have meet digitally as well as in person so far.
2. The VAST amount of knowledge here.
3. The absolute best organized, maintained Forum I have ever been a part of.
Those of you with broadband connections should really appreciate the fact that Okie didn't get cheap on the bandwith.. ever go to ther forums that are run on slow connections? It does NOT make you wish to return..
This is, in my humble (ha!) opinion, the best bang for the buck you will ever get..

Rightfully so Okie.
If someone wants to stand on your doorstep and peddle their wares, then a tax is due the house. my .02!
To those that complain there are not enough sprinkles on your free ice cream, ... Too bad!

I agree! At first I thought like some of others. Why should I have to pay? I've been getting for free forever. Then a little light bulb went on... I thought about what I pay for a mag subscription vs. what I actually get out of the mag. Then I thought about the 12 bucks for DRN vs. what I get out of it. At that point it was a no-brainer. I totally agree with the decision to pay if you want full access to the forums.

It was free to you, but it wasn't free to Okie. Get a clue, it's only $12.00, and a bargan at that.

I agree with the idea b/c there are so many abusers. We get a ton of people who sign up, post a for sale ad, leave an e-mail address and never contribute squate except to check on responses to their for sale ad.
We also get dealers who play tricks and try to sell here without having to advertise.
The principle of the thing is to allow those who use the site the most and contribute to get an extra advantage for their use and contribution.
