Diesel thumper?
Let's spark a debate... why would (or wouldn't) this work?

It has worked; I have seen a military diesel somewhere on here before. I think it was a Kawasaki. There was a video of it. Someone else might be able to remember

there would be no reason you can't but I doubt it would be very fun.
the bike would have to be extremely heavy witha compresion ratio of 20 to 1 or more you are going to need one heck of a batterry /starting system. then the engine would have to be beefed up a bit to be able to handle that with out turning the connecting rod into an extra kickstand
could prove interesting if you mounted it with Rokon's two wheel drive setup and mark out an enduro........... then watch the c riders on motocross 2 strokes try and make it up some of the stuff you laid out.

I saw in an older issue of DIRTBIKE there was a diesel KLX or KLR650. Since diesel is readily available in the battle field and gasoline is sparse, it makes perfect sense.

Polaris made a diesel 500cc 4 wheeler. I rode one in a demo. The diesel knock was really loud and it was slow. Top speed was 23MPH in high range. I did not notice any abundance of torque either. I don't have a good thing to say about it. Maybe that is why they stopped selling them.

Yep, I believe the bikes were one of the last engines on the battle field that wouldn't run diesel.
