Dang Bundy, if it was an EXC, it would have a new home in KY!

Corey, that has the six speed (same as EXC) and an 18" hoop in back, plus EXC tank...my friend what are you waiting for? It is a TR 450 kit away from perfection. Oh and the forks on the SX, those bad boys are the 03 wonder forks everybody wants.

Yeah, but no E-start. And the suspension is setup too heavy for me. I'd have to shell out the bucks for the 450 kit and suspender work. Not sure I can swing that. I may be trading my 250 for an '03 CRF450. Maybe Bundy would work some kind of trade for a second Honda?

Cal,
You dont need the e-start bro! You can sneeze in the general direction of the kickstarter and she fires right up! Plus its about 15lbs lighter to boot!
As for the suspension, for what its worth, I still have the stock springs plus an 8.8 straight rate rear spring.

I don't know? I'd have to ride it to see what the susp. felt like. After riding Chris's 400 EXC with the TR 450 kit, I've been pretty set on an EXC. Ever since I put the W.E.R. susp. on my YZF I've been real picky about suspension.
I'm 195 pounds without gear. And a much slower rider than you. How plush is the valving? I need suspension that will soak up roots and rocks.
I know it's an awesome bike! (It blew by me on the grass track at DW '02!!!) And I'm very comfortable about buying a bike from you. It's just the SX part of it that scares me. How close to Western KY will you be, when you're coming to Alabama?
Let me get this deal with the trade for the CRF450 squared away. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or sell it.

Hey Corey, according to a couple of tuners, the forks from the 03 EXC and the SXS 02 forks are identical. Before I found the 02 EXC, I was purposefully looking for an 02 SX400. First for the forks, second for the availability of the TR kit to make it a 450 (which really runs better than the KTM 450).
It just so happened that this 02 had been revalved plush style and everything on it I was looking for. Now as far as that electric start...well you see what happened to me @ DW this year (although it is nice on the trail).

I don't doubt that they are great forks, and the same forks, but the valving is different between SX and EXC. I need soooft. Eddie's '02 400SX stock suspension is way too rigid for me.
I'd have to ride it and see what it felt like. The weight difference from an EXC is a plus for me, but the suspenders worry me....
