Places to Ride Info, PLease Read.
We should put together a list of the places we are all familiar with, tracks, trails, whatever. Please add the info in this thread. Example, provide as much info as you can.
If we can get enough entries, I'll make a database that will allow members to comment on the facilities, update the info, etc. There are track databases out there, but they aren't kept up to date and don't allow people to comment, I think we can do it better. Seems this would be useful for all of us.
Cooperland Raceway
Stillwater, OK
Email: Cooperland info@cooperlandraceway.com
Phone: 405-743-8545
web: http://cooperlandraceway.com
directions: http://cooperlandraceway.com/WebTra...n&FromPage=Home
Info/Review:
Cooperland Raceway consists of two tracks, a micro or peewee track (50cc and under) and a large national style track. Good trail system.

Phone : 208-245-3608
Admission : $5 practice

Track Obstacles : South Hill/Devil's Drop, The High Jump, Solom's Shakers, The Whoops, The Creek Jump, North End Pocket
Directions : 35 miles east of St. Maries, Idaho on Highway 3. (Located in northern Idaho) Excellent Moto Cross track. Could possibly be the nicest track in the Pacific Northwest. Overnite campers welcome and practice days daily
personal experience: The Keenbaum's are good people, and they've had this place open for many years. Very cool layout, only one jump where you really gotta commit, the Creek Jump, because you actually jump the creek. The Four Stroke Nationals were held here twice. Sometimes dust is an issue, and bring your own shade.

Notes: This track was advertised by the local race club as thw widest in the state a few years back. Check it out and judge for yourself. Also beware the killer step up jump, it makes the one at Cooperland look like a speedbump! No kidding.
HDRC website: http://www.funcentercycles.com/hdrc/ info on Aztec and other area tracks in the "four corners".

Website- http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/ohv/iron...bert/index.html
Admission- FREE!!! with a registered off road vehicle.... they DO honor other states registration
Information-
from the website-
About half of the site is mineland, including inactive iron ore pits, ore stockpiles and tailings basins. The landscape has been dramatically altered by the extraction of iron ore, creating sizeable lakes, ore stockpiles, overburden piles, tailings basins and impoundments. Much of the mined area has revegetated naturally. The northern portion of the site will contain the majority of riding.
The Gilbert site also has a network of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails throughout undeveloped portions of the site. These trails provide access to natural features (e.g. lakes, wetlands).
Sand/mud drags
Observed trials
Multi-purpose event area
Motorcycle races
Hill climbs
4x4 rock crawl and obstacle course
Tough-truck competition
From memory-
This place offers almost any kind of riding you can imagine, hill climbs of every skill level, mud bogs, trials areas, open fire roads, tight single track, sand pits, gravel pits, rock piles, 4-wheeler trails, scenic overviews, a smallish MX track, training area, picnic area, bike wash area, all contained in a HUGE fence (they currently have 3,000 acres open I believe (the webistes info is dated), and they are adding more as we speak)... You literally CANT get lost in here despite it's size... great signage....
4 wheelers, monster/rock crawler trucks, and cycles are welcome... there are seperate trails for each and some combined
Although you can ride a very large chunk of it in one day, you really need at least 2 days to get the chance to take on all it's challenges.... while you're up there you might as well check out Big Aspen trail system in Britt MN too!!! it's nice... there are also endless other trails around the area... it is pretty rural.... nice comfortable lodging at Giants Ridge Ski And Golf Area not 5 miles away!!! (I'm told the golfing is great there, but I'd never know because I'd rather be riding... LOL)... or plenty of camping nearby..
