Front Rotor Moves

I noticed that my rotor has a little play in it where the inner part in rivited to the outer part. Just a little. Is this normal? Why is it made that way anyway? It seems like it would have been cheaper and stronger to make the rotor one solid piece.

Mine does the same thing. It's a floating rotor, it's a good thing.

Go to http://www.rockymountainatv.com/home.asp?sid=0003040461 and search under "Rotor". Then scroll down and click on "Titax Oversized Brake Rotors - Kawasaki "
There's a picture of a rotor very similar to mine. What exactly is the purpose of this and is a little play normal?

Slight play is normal. It helps ensure proper alignment of the rotor to caliper.

i thought the little bit of give was ment to improve the feel of the brake and all the h models come with the flooting disk.
