M2R D ring rust

A week or two ago I commented that I'd report back when M2R responded regarding their D-ring that tends to rust. I guess the thread was tossed. Anyhow, here's their response to my inquiry . . .

We appreciate you writing and all your support!

I would just clean it up a bit if I had it. Maybe just lightly scratch some of the rust off with a flathead and then wipe it. The rust is not a safety concern, it just doesn't look that great. We have addressed this as we will be using different D rings for newer helmets. Sorry for the problem. I would just make sure to keep them dried off when not using them. You are welcome to send the helmet in to us and I can clean it up. Please let me know any way I can help.

Best regards,
Dan
