Just something that has worked for me. Marvel Mystery Oil not really a mystery just a very high detergent lubricant almost cutting fluid. When I was 17 a crusty old mechanic took the time to show me his ancient Chevy truck with a 350 with over 200,000 miles with out a rebuild, his trick was 1 pint of automatic transmission fluid added at oil change, supposedly keeping the sludge out and creating highly polished bearing surfaces and cylinder walls. I have used this practice on all my vehicles with marvel mystery oil 100 miles prior to oil change with no problems and noted a very pristine valve train compared to other vehicles I have worked on. During my Jet ski toy phase it was recommended I mix it with my fuel breaking in a new set of cylinders. My 2004CRF450 was using oil I would loose from just over the high mark to just below in about 3 hours time. I realized a possible ring seating problem and put 150 cc of Marvel Mystery in the crank case ran it for about 2 hours time changed the oil and have had minimal loss of oil ( I fill till the air bubble just disapears on the oil level window..bike level..have not had to service between intervals since using marvel mystery oil) at my every 3 ride oil and filter change interval. I only use it now for a flush when I change my oil pour in 150cc drive around the yard to get it hot and then dump it. I dont think it would be wise to run it all the time as it may affect the needed viscosity for the big thumper at high revs. Just my 2 cents....what do you guys think...Ross
