Ok... whose ready for a little heat?

Posted by: ktmracer---------------------

leaving on friday night for the 500 mile haul.

Posted by: Dewster---------------------

Ouch!

I'll be leaving Sunday morning at 4:30am for the 110mile drive.

Although, not sure what kinda of shape I'll be in after a 2pm wedding on Saturday afternoon.

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

I will be there Friday afternoon. I am in the club so be looking for me at the checks. You folks should enjoy the trail. I have spent 5 out of the last 7 weekends out there and the trail is well marked and in good shape and pretty fun to ride. A little dusty, but I ordered some well timed rain showers later this week and should have the trails as good as it gets come Sunday am. I am riding ghost, so I get the fresh trail first! Yeah!

Posted by: larosche---------------------

Hey!
Make sure you clear out those spider webs so I don't have to do the dirty work!!

RAD DAD

Ron, Bennie and TJ will be there too!

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

I have a sucker lined up to lead!

Posted by: prk03---------------------

It's sort of sad here in Dothan. I will be on the side lines, well probably the couch while the rest of yall are having too much fun. I tore my rotator cuff at Gulfcoast but was able to ride until 2 weeks ago. Went ahead and had it repaired. So now I am riding a sling instead of my bike. May show at Rockford and see if I can be of any help. Yall have fun.

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

I will be there. I am not up to race pace just yet. So I am going to clean up all you guys that dont make it out on your own.
See all of you up there.

Posted by: lawman---------------------

I'm out, can't deal with the drive. Ya'll have fun & good luck!

Posted by: motohead00---------------------

I am in... broken toe and all!

Are you and Tex coming together? See ya there

Posted by: ktmracer---------------------

yeah, he just got a new toy hauler so it might take us a bit longer than normal. (especially if we have another blow out)

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

Randy what happened to your toe?

Posted by: motohead00---------------------

I was riding at Cravens on Sat. Planned on camping and riding all weekend and enjoying the beautiful weather. Well, 1.5 miles in I clipped a stump covered in grass on the edge of the trail. I knew it hurt bad and was very tender. I still rode 19.5 miles and when I took my boot off when we got back to the camp, it was way ugly. Anyway, Dr. Mike took me to the ER in Opelousas and it turns out that it looked worse than it actually was.

The big toe had a minor fracture on the inside of it, but there was major bruising and swelling across all the toes, the top of the foot and and the arch of the foot from the footpeg. I just limp very badly right now, but it is getting better. By Sunday I should be able to race.

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

I sure hope you can race good!!!! I'm just glad you're gonna make it. Give me a shout Ill be in the great big motorhome with a fish on the side of it. I also hope that this is one of those fun races instead of torture. I havent rode in ages it seems.

Posted by: gasgasman---------------------

I'll be there.
Really! (rahrah)

Posted by: skabeeb---------------------

My son and I are heading over Friday morning and should arrive about 6:00 (8.5 hour drive)...

Looking forward to it after having a few weeks off.

We wont be in the motorhome this time instead we're staying in Alexandria Friday and Saturday night.

Come on RAIN!!!

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

Its coming already.... I hope they dont call this one. Im sure they will if its the least bit wet.

I think a wet one would be a great ride. sideways

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

I havent been up there in the last few weeks, but anything less than 2" of rain before Saturday evening will only make the trails better. It has been very dry up here the last three weeks. Prepare for dust!!!!!

According to the radar, looks like they got a good bit of rain this afternoon. Should be borderline "perfect".

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!! Can't make this one. I'm just not up for the commute. See you guys for the Acadiana HS.

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

I wanted to thank all of you who came to our event. Especially Darin for helping us ride sweep, in the pouring rain I might add. Congrats to Motohead00 on gutting out a 3rd place finish with a broken toe. Thank the weather for holding out long enough for everyone to finish. The skies really opened up after we gave out the awards. I hope everyone enjoyed the trail. I ghost rode all 3 loops starting at about 6:20 and I was wishing I was racing b/c I thought the traction was excellent. Except for the slimy roots. See ya'll in Rockford.

Posted by: skabeeb---------------------

That was a BLAST!!!! My vote for enduro of the year because it was just plain fun (and easy for old farts like me).

Hats off to the Breezy Hill Club, Gene Stelley and even Darin for sweep riding...

The trails were PERFECT on row three. Dry Prong was damp Prong today.

Now if my ribs heal after cracking the same ones again TODAY (OUCH!!!) I'll be enjoying Ed's handiwork at Rockford....

Posted by: Bennie33---------------------

Anyone know who won Overall? How about top ten? The race was a good event, no dust! Had fun. Thanks to all that helped.

Posted by: motohead00---------------------

The race was fun in spite of all the maladies that I had even getting there this morning and starting the race. I didn't put in a spectacular ride, but 3rd was better than I expected and helped brighten an otherwise bad day.

My Pro3 bit the dirt before even starting the race, not that I even needed it today the way I was riding

Thanks to all the club members for a great ride and the rain gods for keeping the dust down!

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

That was a great race (If you like 3hr hare scrambles). I had a fun time even if I did get 4th. I felt like I was leaving the competition only to find out that they left me. (someones been practicing a lot lately, evidently not me.)
The club did a good job with the course. My favorite spot was right after the 57. those 4th adn 5th gear wide open trails!! Traction was really good too.
Thanks guys it was still fun.
I never found that brick wall I was supposed to hit. frigin hs.

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

Steven Reed won overall with 24.

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

I dont see how they go so fast through all that stuff. 24 is smokin. and thats after the long course.
Great conditions on a great day.

You guys are welcome, we also need to thank John and Keith for letting me talk them into so much fun. We had three dnfs before we got to the 3.0 mile marker. I was real happy I brought the rope.

GREAT event. Very well marked.
Had a blast.
Route info should not be with held from the riders before the event. Also the roll chart info was way too small to read.

Posted by: Bandit9---------------------

John and Keith, much appreciated on the help. I will remember that next year after the Cajun Classic. As long as ya'll don't put me through hell during the event! LOL.

gasgasman,
We really tried hard to mark the course really well. It was a challenge with the lumber company clearing out stuff after everytime we would mark it. We would come up on a section that was woods the week before and now it is just leveled. No arrows, no nothing. That also was the reason why the route info was withheld. We were trying to fix stuff on Saturday that had been cleared during the week. This went on for about a month.

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

WOW. Im glad they did save some good trail.
By reading the trail you never would have known that you guys had to regroup every week. even better job putting on the event now. It was a race all the way to the finish.

Posted by: RAHRAH---------------------

Im ready to go back and ride it again.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing today!
RahRah, you need come ride my Caney Creek Enduro.

I wish there was some way to let the club members know how much we really appreciate all the work that they put in for this race. I know they would rather be out riding also.
THANKS!
