Steel City MC vs. Alessi

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: super rat---------------------

It sounds like they will both be there in the 250 class, so who's gonna come out on top?

Posted by: dirt bike dave---------------------

Tough call. In their head to head match up at a local race in the spring, Alessi won. But his career seems to be pretty high drama these days, so the stress could distract him and put him way off his game.

So I'll take Jeremy to beat Alessi this time.

Any truth to the item in Cycle News that MC was asking $20,000 start money for national appearances?

Posted by: jackdrinker---------------------

M/C was there racing for fun.. It was a local race. Do you think M/C would run that hard in a local event, me no think so.
On the Alessi site they have the races in which he was up against M/C and Rhino.. They make sure to point out that he beat them...Gimme a break...

Posted by: XRpredator---------------------

It won't even be close. MC top ten. Top 15 at the worst.

Alessi will be lucky to get a national point.

Posted by: ktmdad---------------------

There's more on the line this time. Would not be surprised to see MC put a nice aggressive block pass on Alessi over the weekend. After Alessi's Millville performance, a top 10 for him is not out of the question. Although MC should be a head of him.

couldn't have said it better!!, Alessi has some catching up to do.
MC was winning races while mike was still poopin in diapers

Posted by: mx547---------------------

i think it will be close. barring crashes, they both should be in the bottom half of the top ten, maybe back to twelfth. i would probably give alessi a slight edge.

I wouldn't give Alessi squat, MC has nothing to prove and no pressure while Alessi has all the pressure in the world and everything to prove. MC will pass him like a novice goon, and if he doesn't Hamblin will center punch him off the track just for good measure.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

I Hope they Both put on a good race, as for everybody else.. I have nothing against Mike, its his dad.. The kid is out there riding, not his dad..
Rick

Posted by: motohead00---------------------

I never was one to be on the MC bandwagon, but in this case I hope he put's a whoopin' on the newbie!

I believe Alessi won the Hamblin encounter as Alessi got up and kept racing while Hamblin pulled off and didn't finish.

I hope they both do well. I don't like Tony but Mike and Jeff seem to be humble enuff when they are not around their dad. Mike, I think, will be much better prepared next time out.

MC I hope just has fun.

doug henry raced recently and didn't do "squat". alessi raced recently and ran top ten before running out of gas (or whatever). i find it hard to believe that mc is faster than henry. maybe, but i just don't think so. i hope they both run top ten. i have nothing against either of them.

Posted by: Vic---------------------

People seem to forget just how fast Jeremy can be.

I think he will surprise.

Posted by: Kawidude---------------------

I like MC a lot, but I have a feeling the pace of the 250 class has gotten quite a bit faster since he left, mostly due to guys trying to run RC's pace. I hope he's not surprised by the pace they're running now. I'd love to see him do well. I also think Alassi will do pretty well too. He got the first pro race out of the way and I think he'll have a little better idea what to expect this time. Should be fun to see.

The difference here is that MC has been racing, while Henry has been farming.

Nope. Completely intentional. I sort of like it as his new nickname.

Henry went into that race with very little preperation, that hardly counts. Besides MC has not stopped racing since he retired, Henry spends his days milking cows and feeding chickens.

Besides MC and Alessi were "bar-to-bar" in that race. Now add in 40 other guys capable of running that pace, a very rough track, a 35 minute moto, and you have a scale that tips in the more experienced MC's favor. And of course, how could we forget that Mike will be on a "stock bike" so he will not have a chance at winning I'm sorry, but you can never count out the king.

Im sick of the Alessi name.

Whether or not this bad press comes from his father, I think the kid is a punk. Why? Because he does everything his father tells him to do(maybe he doesnt know any better, but come on!) and he's going to realize a few years down the line when none of the big factories will pick him up because His father wants two semis, one for himself and one for his ego.

Oh yeah, maybe a box van for Mike and Jeff.

But isnt it interesting? Mike will be racing the 250 class at both events. Then go do the normal thing next year and ride the 125 class. It's not that, it's more that they'll show up when Bubba's moved up...Hmmm. I smell something fishy and conspiracy like.

Most likely a plan to 'dominate' the 125 class, when the other ego leaves...

Oh yeah, a prediction. Alessi will take more dirt samples than bodies in Six Feet Under.

??? Let me get this straight. The kid is a punk in your eyes b/c he listens to his dad? Sounds like he respects his dad like most of us were taught to do. It isn't this kid's fault his dad has a echoing cavern in place of grey matter. Best thing that could happen to the kids is the dad be put on foreign assignment until they are like 25 (so the behavioral damage can be de-programmed out of their domes)

Geez, what if Daniel son had been taking life lessons from the dim-witted Cobra Ki instructor instead of the ever-so-insightful Mr. Miogi? Pretty sure it would be much like the results of Alessi's pro debut...lot's of smack talking followed by good ol' fashion butt-whoopins brought on by not being able back up said smack talk.

Posted by: Farmer John---------------------

As the Alessi's Turn.

Reminds me of Mike Larocco & his dad back in the late 80's.

Posted by: Dr_Doom---------------------

Mike is a punk(it isnt a permanent tag, it can change).

It may not be his choice.

But he has been groomed to carry on his father's ego, which is truly sad.

Maybe he'll learn something these upcoming races.

You know, like "Gee, The universe doesnt center around the Alessi Newsletter?"

or "Maybe i should have went with Mr. Miogi...Roll on, Roll off, Roll on, Roll off."

Hopefully, by this time next year, He'll be confident, not cocky.

Posted by: Duneman---------------------

At that race that Alessi won Mc, they had a last race and Mc beat Alessi

indeed, Tony Alessi is no Mr. Miagi

Posted by: nephron---------------------

Why is it everyone thinks Steel City's going to be an MC vs MA thing?
What does a single backyard supercross have to do with an outdoor national--totally different races?

Awe, come on. Bubba waited likewise until RC was on a Suzuki.

Running joke around here, but I'm just kidding about the Suz thing.

Posted by: Duneman---------------------

I heard Bubba will race 125 nationals but in SX it will be 250.

Posted by: leakypipe23---------------------

Bubba pointed out this year, 250 for him both indoor and outdoor next year. As for Alessi, I think the kid's ego has fed off of his dad's. Most teens look up to people like Reed, Bubba, and Windham. Mike thinks he can teach Windham how to take a whoop section better. Mike Alessi is the next Robbie Reynard. Tons of talent, but will not be a dominator like other riders have been in the past.

Posted by: BonChance13---------------------

For the sake of the old guard,I hope MC does well. While I am not an Alessi fan really and have never liked hype like this,I have enjoyed ready the various posts.A shot of controversy is needed right now, with RC and Bubba totally dominating and beating the others before the race,it has been very boring really.I think that he might be another Reynard, but who knows.
