Alpinestars Tech 4?

Hey everyone,
I have outgrown my current boots (Fox trackers) and I've decided this time I'm going to get some better boots. The only problem is I'm a university student, so money is tight. Is the Tech 4 the same as the M4, or is it a completely new boot? I'm also wondering if the Tech 6 would be that much better, considering the fact that I'm on a tiny budget, and $500 boots will be really tough to swing.

I had M4's, then got my Tech 6's. Not sure if the "Tech 4" is a new name for the M4 or not, but there is no comparison-The Tech 6's are a much more supportive (stiffer) and high quality boot. I got mine at the end of the season and they were "only" $195. I'd shop around for the 6's.

Thanks biglou. I'll probably be getting them as a birthday or christmas present, so I'll pass the info on to my parents. Does anybody know how the sizing is? I wear a 10.5 street shoe, if that helps. Thanks again.

They are true to size for me. Same as my street shoes. There's no bootie in the Tech 6, either. If you wear thick MX socks, I'd say go for the 11. I think they only come in full sizes. A 10 might be too tight, and that would suck!
