Upgrade 88 RM250 to 03 RM250??

I am considering upgrading my 88 RM250 to a 2003 model and had a couple of questions. First, how much of a difference would I notice going to the newer bike in terms of engine and suspension performance and would a novice rider such as myself be able to notice the difference. Second, the price on the bike is $2900 and the guy seems like he has kept it pretty clean and knows a thing or two. Says the bike has less than 50 hrs on it, bone stock. I have not actually seen the bike but would not anticipate any issue standing out. Does this seem like a good deal, or just an average price. I thought it sounded like a pretty good opportunity to upgrade my bike, but I also realize that at my level its about 90% rider, 10% bike when it comes to performing on the track. Thoughts??

I went from a 95 to an 03 and the differnce was amazing, I cant even put into words how much difference it was. Lets just say a donky and a ferrei having a race lol.
Everything is better, the main things I noticed that the 03 did that my 95 didnt was it turned, it jumped, it braked and it goes hard. Im never worried about mechanical things going wrong with it either.
I cant imagine how much difference a your bike would be

You will love the 03 mine is great and with a few mods it will outrun 450's mine does and since you are comming off a suzuki they have the 03 will feel similar to the 88 the 03 will just do everything 100x better
