Note, Points of Interest.

1) Ride with a Legend! See the schedule for Wedesday. Three "mini (short) ride & BS Sessions (1.5 hours) will be lead by Malcolm Smith (The father of Off-Road in the USA IMHO). Limit of 15 riders, per ride. Post here if you want to be involved and which ride (1, 2 or 3). The first 45 to post are in. Everyone who goes, gets either a free MSR Hat or Tee Shirt, get Malcolm to autograph it

2) Larry Roeseler's Off-Road Clinics. Informal rides with Larry, stop at tough sections to discuss and get tips. 3 Rides during the day.

3) After Larry's Clinics, take him on in the Barrel Races at 2:00 ! Beat Larry's time and win a set of MSR RG2 Gear and a Support Ride Offer from MSR for 05!!! Yes, EVERYONE that beats Larry wins

Wednesday Night Around the fire with Malcolm and Larry.... Right after the giveaways, hang out to Bench Race and shoot the bull. Have a question for either one? Email it to okie @ dirtrider.net . If we pick your question, ProTaper hooks you up with a new set of SE Bars.

Other Stuff:
The track is available for open riding as long as there isn't an event taking place.
The trials are open as long as there isn't an event.

Please enter the Main track ONLY at the starting area. DO NOT enter the track anywhere else, at any time.

If you ride the track, please offer-up some flagging time! We don't want to go to organized practice and times, but need everyone's help to keep it safe. Do your part!

Group Shot on Friday. Everyone please show-up! Bring your bikes to sit on, stand-by.

More to come.

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

As far as the track being open whenever an event is not being held on it.
Everyone be sure to only enter the track at the designated point of entry (THE START AREA). In cases where a red flag is posted at the enrty area the track is being used for a event or Maintanence (hopefully) and is closed to open riding. If the flag is out at an unscheduled time check at the bigtop for info as to why and how long estimated before being re-opened

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Uh yeah, what he said.
Note, the red flag Dave speaks of will join a big sign that says "Track Closed, Event" , or "Track Closed, Work"

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Oooh I want to be # 1 to sign up to ride with Malcolm!!!!! Whenever there's a slot available for me!

Posted by: MXSparx---------------------

is the mini ride with Malcolm for mini sized bikes or is 1.5 hrs considered mini?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Not mini bikes, lol.
We thought someone would think that... or better yet, A Mini Malcolm.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Working on a way to show "On Any Sunday" under the big-top for those who've never seen it, want to see it again <-- who deosn't? Guranteed to make you enjoy riding with Malcolm!

Got a copy of OAS? Bring it to DW, Malcolm will be happy to sign it for ya.

Posted by: CR Swade---------------------

I'd like to sign up for the morning LR ride session. If we can get away, I would like to ride the last Malcolm Smith ride on Wednesday...but I will have to confirm the MS ride tomorrow.

Posted by: CAL---------------------

Can I post for the others in my group? If so, please put the following Ky guys down for the last (# 3) Mini Malcom ride.

CAL
Lonzo
Darby
cbedwards

Holy crap!!! I can't believe I get to hit the trails with Malcom Smith!! My wife is bringing me a napkin so I can wipe the drool off my face...

Posted by: WaltCMoto---------------------

Sign me up for Malcolm # 3
Thanks, Walt

Posted by: Tree---------------------

Sign me up for Malcom ride #1.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Okay now that I've gotten over the initial shock that I'm going to be able to ride the woods with Malcolm Smith, can you sign me and Rooster up for Malcolm Ride # 2 please?!?!?!

Posted by: LoriKTM---------------------

Ok, this thread is now posted in 2 different forums!! How are we going to keep track of everyone? Sign up me & Dave for the Malcolm III afternoon ride!

Posted by: D Lafleur---------------------

Sign me, Lucas273, motohead00, and drdupre for MS ride 1.. I might even bring a bike from OAS timeframe just for the masses to appreciate the bikes they were riding back then.

Posted by: Chili---------------------

LazyBoy and I will take Malcolm Smith Ride #2 please if still available.

Posted by: Papakeith---------------------

I'll take whatever ride I can get 1-2-3 just fit me in there somewhere!

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Malcolm wants to break-up the rides by ability...

Ride 1, beginners (some woods experience, but not fast by any stretch
Ride 2, Intermediate (decent pace in the woods)
Ride 3, B and better.

Malcolm can be considered a B Rider at this point in his "career". He rides for the pleasure

ONLY if the rides are not filled can one rider, ride in more than one...
Post here with your RIDE NUMBER.
Don't post "Any of them" for example.

KEEP IN MIND: If you are in either of the Malcolm or Larry FIRST RIDES, you need to show-up at the Rider's Meeting, ready to ride, with bike! The group will leave directly from the meeting. Show-up in your PJ's, you'll miss it.

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

Okay after reading the new "requirements" for the Malcolm Ride, Rooster and I would still like to be involved in Ride # 2...

Posted by: CAL---------------------

Please put the following down for ride # 3:

CAL
Lonzo
Darby

I'll have to let cbedwards speak for himself. Not sure if he can handle a B rider pace. (not too sure I can for an hour!)

Posted by: evenslower---------------------

Ride 2 please. (If there were a ride 1.5 I'd take that)

Posted by: Senior KX Rider---------------------

I'll take a spot in ride #2.......on second thought, put Eric and I both down for ride 1. I think he is up to it and I would like to ride with him

Posted by: Chili---------------------

Okie please change LazyBoy and I to ride 1 since neither of us have ever ridden in the woods. As for the Larry rides are we supposed to state a preference or sign up in this thread as well?

Posted by: LoriKTM---------------------

Ok, since the requirements have changed, put Dave and myself down for Malcolm ride #2.

Posted by: motometal---------------------

Please put me down for #3. My co-Iowans Jake Monaghan and Steve Sanger are also "in"...hopefully there's still room?

Posted by: XR3J---------------------

Okie, If there is still room in #1 ride put me down for that. I wish there was a 1.5 ride also.
Jerry

Posted by: WaltCMoto---------------------

Put me down for MS # 2

Posted by: Midhigh---------------------

Put me down for MS ride #1

Posted by: rv6junkie---------------------

Okie, pursuant to my post in the now closed thread, please sign me up for MS #1 and LR #1.

Thanks

Posted by: motohead00---------------------

According to the ride constraints, please change Lucas273, Dlafleur, motohead00 and drdupre to ride #3.

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

Hopefully there is still room left on #2, if not I'll do #1. Can't pass up a chance to ride with a legend!!

Posted by: BEEF706---------------------

I'd like to hit ride #1, trees scare me, but I gotta ride with Malcolm

Posted by: Paxdad---------------------

I room still exists please put me down for MS ride I or II.
Thanks.
Paxdad

Posted by: Mike & Mary---------------------

Okie, I "might" be able to bring a screen and projector from our office for showing the OAS...theater style. I've used it to show movies for our youth group at church, and it rocks! I'll ask the boss, if you're interested.

Posted by: Mikeb---------------------

If its not too late for us to get in ... 4 more for ride # 3 with Malcolm Smith

The projector and screen are a GO! Should I bring my receiver and speakers or will there be enough PA equipment there to run the audio through?

Posted by: Kav---------------------

I'll go on the seconed Malcom ride

Posted by: calamari racer---------------------

Please place me in M.S. ride #2 and if 2 is filled, #3. Also L.R. ride #2.

Sweet! How big is the screen?
Pretty sure Jeff Gilbert ill again donate the PA, but don't want to assume it. Jeff, you reading this?

How do we play the movie? DVD? VHS?

Posted by: Chili---------------------

I'll have a dvd copy I'm bringing to get autographed if you need one in dvd format.

Can't remember on the screen. I think 7' by 7'. The projector can go MUCH larger than the screen will allow. If we can find something larger to project onto...

Is someone else bringin a DVD player? I can bring one if I need to, but I'm not sure how much room we'll have, especially if I have to bring my receiver and speakers.

Posted by: Chili---------------------

Worst case scenario is we will have LazyBoy's PS2 in the motorhome but without a remote it is a bit of a pain. An actual DVD player would be a better solution.

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

We have a DVD player or the PS2 that we could pull out of the prairie schooner! and If you want to keep the M.S. movies going, i got the three pack, the Bruce Brown collection.

Posted by: CAL---------------------

Any word on the PA equipment? Jeff, you out there?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Pokie!
Bring your On Any Sunday DVD?
Anyone got "Malcom, Motocross and More on DVD?

This is going to be cool

Posted by: gnarlykaw---------------------

thats in the Brown collection. Yeah, i got it. it's coming along.............
1)on any sunday,2) on any sunday, motocross, malcolm & more,3) and Bruce browns, on any sunday revisited.

Posted by: oldfatguy---------------------

All right! I finally qualify to be #1! Err, I guess that really isn't a good thing in this case is it... Anyway, I'd like to get into Malcom's group #1 and Larry's novice group, if possible. I need all the help I can get.

Posted by: Tree---------------------

Can you put me in for ride #2 instead of #1 that I posted for earlier.

Posted by: maddog22---------------------

I would like to add my name to the Malcolm Smith Ride The Woods #1 or #2.

Posted by: sbates---------------------

I would definitely like a spot on one of the Malcom rides (#2 preferrably). Thanks

Sweet!

Posted by: CAL---------------------

Still no confirmation on the PA system?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Yeah, Jeff is bringing it, I still don't know wabout hooking up a DVD player to it? I can only assume it's got RCA in's we can use?

Posted by: ksp---------------------

Sure would like to get in on ride #3 IF we get there in time.
KSP
