Skid Plates?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: jbrim---------------------

I have a 2001 KDX 220 and I just purchased a Works Connection skid plate and it does not seem to cover very much. Can I get some suggestions on some good skid plates. Thanks

Are you sure you got the skid plate and not theglide plate?

The skid plate I have (Utah SPortcycle) also sold as Moose and some others - come sup around the KDX dogears.

Works well.

I use a Works skid plate. Considering how it's pretty much beat to a pulp, it must be doing something!

No, it does not have a water pump guard.

It does accomplish its purpose, which in my case was to protect the frame rails.

What is it you want to accomplish?

Thanks for the feedback. MY works connection does not cover the dog ears. I think would feel more comfortable if it did. I will look at the moose brand any other brands I should look at.

thanks

Check out Flatland Racing. They make some incredible plates I think they have one for the KDX now.

This is from distant memory (No, I don't mean earlier this afternoon), but seems the Works people offered a plate with and without coverage for the frame ears.

Mine is 'with'.

Not a whole lot of sense in having a skid plate without that.
