NC places Cataloochee Mountain area?

Friends have inivited my hubby and I to Cataloochee Mountain in late Oct. We are thinking about trailering our bikes along. Are there any riding areas near there? Is it too darn cold then to ride? We are from FL. I don't ski (too dangerous 
) and would be bored silly hanging around a condo and only hiking some.

Brown Mountain and Brushy Mountain are both close by. Brushy is private and much better maintained. You can find more information at ncdirtrider.com

Thanks, I will go look at that site. I did find out that the drive leading to the house that we will be staying at is 7-8 miles long gravel drive. Definately bringing the bikes. Yeah!
