some basic suspension questions

Goodday everybody,
after reading a lot of old posts, regarding pistons, stacks and oil flow cq pressures i am still left with some minor questions. Maybe you can help me with some answers.
For example, is it true that even the lowest flow pistons don't obstruct the oil flow?

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

good question-i wish i knew the answer, i suspect they dont ,as one road bike had ports as smaller than 1mm, the tech installed some gold valves and the rt stacks and the bike felt no different.

I can imagine that this won't do for the midvalve/rebound piston in the fork legs, does it?

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

I would want larger midvalve ports.

So, is it safe to say that we need high flow midvalve/rebound pistons and low flow base/comp pistons to get the best tuning situation? And is there already a forks manufacturer that uses this configuration as standard?

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

I would guess so, i use std pistons as i cant justify the cost of the replacements in performance increase.

Nice statement, Marcus, and thnks for giving me some answers.
