Mine eyes have seen the glory...

Well, my ViewSonic 21" CRT gave up the ghost last weekend.. served me well since I became self-employed in 1994. Yup, back then it was a $1200 monitor! If you spend as much time behind the screen as I do, you def. appreciate a good display.

REALLY wanting to go flat panel, I've waited..and waited... unless you spend MAJOR dollars on a designer's LCD ($2K and more), all I've ever seen or read about were displays that gave up real display quality for new-age coolness.

That just changed! If you haven't seen the new Sony SDM HS series displays (SDM-HS74P and SDM-HS94P) and you are in the market... give 'em a look! holy &#$( they are good! I got the 19" model, so vs. my 21" (19" viewable) I gave up no real estate, but did have to go down in resolution to 1280x1024 from 1600x1200. Frankly, at the higher rate I was getting a lot of strain anyway.

Picked up a ton of desk space to boot! Check them out at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. You'll be impressed. ($100 rebates right now too) making the 19" $659.00 (Circuit City). Yes, that's a lot for a display, but when you make a living looking at one ....

I was browsing Dell's mag the other day and found this:http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/...9&page=external

Sweet! Can you see that, windows all over it, one of them a HD TV window
Wonder what the response time is on that thing? The aspec don't show it. Important if you want to game on it. The cheapie Sony is 12ms , which is VERY fast for a LCD. Dot pitch?

Thump has a big screen monitor like that (Mac)... widescreen, high res... it's very cool.

Congrats on the extra desk space! Here at work that's all we have.

I make my living sitting on my ass. Knowing this, I'm trying to justify buying a nice Herman Miller chair. http://www.officedesigns.com/aerbaschairb.html

I've seen those... awesome chairs. I'll have to continue to have a sore back using this $99 Office Depot special

Looks like an awesome gamer chair. The chair, the 26 incher, a large dark room and Doom 3....yeah, baby!

Oh yeah, and 7.1 speakers.

Great chair, I'm sitting in one now. I got a killer deal ($350) when we ordered about 1000 for Nokia's offices many years ago. Even at $600, it is a deal. When they first came out they wer priced at $1,200 if I remeber correctly.

The Equa 2 Chair is very comfortable as well. I had one of those at the last corporate job I had. Worked great for 12+ years.

We had the low back version.
