Is it cool or what!

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

Yeah sure we have overcast and can only catch glimpses. I really wanted to shoot some pictures

Posted by: Tony Eeds---------------------

The overcast just caught up with us. I got a few really good photos I think. I am getting ready to dowload them and see.

I have got to fix me IE. It says there is an error on the page and will not let me attach the photo

It is really awesome down here. There is almost no light polution here so there are a jillion stars visible. We have been sitting on the bow of the boat all evening , the ocean is flat calm and there is a beautiful reflection on the water.

Dang it ... that sounds nice. We need to have a ride down your way, of course I don't know where we would get bikes.

Rush was talking about doing the same thing today during his broadcast.

I am getting about 4~5 emails a day for land in Costa Rica. Maybe I will just buy the country (they make it sound that "cheap") and we can meet at my soon to be purchased ocean front villa.

That sounds cool Tony. I think I might be in Costa Rica in April. This is the marina I will be staying in. If you are looking for a place in CR this is the place http://www.lossuenosresort.com/

i had planned to watch it with my seven year-old but we had thunderstorms all evening.

Can't believe I missed it. Musta been the excitement of the world series but I'm still a bit bummed. Thanks for the great pics TreeJumper!!! I usually make it a point to see stuff like that!!!

My kids and I went outside at 9:00 for a first look...not much was happening. Too early At about 9:30 we could see the lower left portion of the moon being cast with a shadow. When we went back out at 9:45 we saw...

Nothing!

The clouds moved in and blocked the whole event. I checked before I went to bed at 11:00 and still nothing but clouds (I would have woke the kids if I could have seen something!)

5:25 am this morning when I woke up, I saw the brightest moon I've ever seen! As an old teacher of mine always use to say, "in life - timing is everything"

Posted by: squeaky---------------------

I missed it too...it was overcast all night here, and it still is

I saw some of it on TV during the World Series...

I can't believe they continued with the World Series. They should have stopped as soon as the eclipse began.

That said by someone that would rather watch paint dry. Baseball lost me after the first strike. Whiny millionaires.

We got to see the whole event here in Colorado... I set up both of my telescopes a Meade LX200 GPS 12" and a meade 60mm... the image was too big for the 12" for pictures.... all I could see were those dang mountians on the moon so I switched over to the 60mm and got about a 10 shots in... I have to join so I can post some pictures of it. glad to see others are interested in astronomy too! Jeff.
