Has anybody ridden these bikes and how much are the worth? I might get one

If it's in good condition with nothing wrong it's worth like max $800 and it better be in like pristine condition for that price for how old that is. www.kbb.com look up the blue book price.

I bought a new one in '84. It was a good bike back then, and IF it is well maintained and in good working order, it would still be a fun bike today. The stock fork springs are very soft - hopefully the springs have been stiffened and oil level raised over stock settings.

Linkage bearings are prone to wearing out, and replacement linkage parts and are probably very expensive. If the rear shock is worn out it might be hard to find parts for a rebuild or replacement. The brakes were weak even by '84 standards, so if the drums are worn out you are looking at either a lot of money to replace them or living with bad brakes.

IMO, unless you get a great deal on the bike, you would be better off spending a bit more and getting an '89-'94 KDX (water cooled, power valve, disc brakes). It's a much more modern bike and they usually sell pretty cheap.
