ok i was all into atv's planning on buying the trx450r , but now im looking more into dirtbikes hearing things like , there more fun, and safer , so i am looking for a dirt bike thats under 3000 maybe 3500, i would like the dirtbike to be able to jump well, have good suspension, speed is a factor but not to important over 45 atleast, also to be somewhat durable, and those are basically what im looking for , if anyone could give me some good models to look at, or any advice it would be greatly apreciated...thnx

You need to give more info on yourself and your riding.
How big are you? If you are under 160# or so a 125 might work but if you tip the scales over 200 you would probably want a 250 or a 4 stroke.
What are you riding Trails MX SX ?
You sound like you would be aggressive but do you want to race it or just kick up some roost?
Also where you live is going to affect the price here in the north the season is all but over for the majority so bikes may seel lower but in the south the riding is just hitting a peak so bikes may go higher

dont worry about speed most mx bikes are faster than that trx, i would get a used 125 2stroke like a kx125, yz125, cr125, rm125. With everyone buying 4stroke bikes right now the resale for used 2stroke bikes is really low. I found my bike on cycletrader.com i hope that helps

I agree. Get a 125 two stroke bike. If you have never rode a dirtbike before, a 125 will scare the hell out of you, but it's perfect for your size and you'll quickly get used to it and appreciate its power. Also, I wouldn't be looking to get a new bike either. There are plenty of excellent used bikes out there, especially this time of year. There are tons of people out there who buy brand new bikes, and never ride them. Then they sell them for 1/3 of what they paid for them new. For $3,000, you could get just about any 125 you want. Maybe not a brand new one, but one that's a year or two old. I wouldn't get one with a lot of mods either. Maybe a handlebar and that's it. My bike is a 2001 KX 250. I bought it from the original owner who never rode it but a couple of times. It didn't have a scratch on it anywhere. Basically a brand spanking new bike and I paid $2,200 for it. It had a renthal bar and skid plates on it. I'm still new to riding myself, but these are my observations after buying my bike. Go for a 125 two stroke. You can do anything you want with it. Another advantage of buying a used bike, is that you may decide later that there is one type of riding you prefer and you will then want another bike. You won't have spent thousands of dollars on a new bike either. Check out cycletrader.com. That's where I found my bike and there are thousands of bikes for sale on there! Matt
