Swimming with the KDX

I took my KDX swiming yesterday.

We have had a lot of rain recently in north Texas. I came over a small hill and jumped right into 3+ foot deep water that had collected in a depression on the other side.

Took the bike home, took carb and pipe off, cleaned it up and dried it out. Started on the 2nd kick and seems to run fine.

What a bike!

If you sank both bikes, then started the race........

As I started to go underwater I noticed the bike seemed to lose power.

Does anyone know what HP a KDX 200 has while under water?

Way more than a YZ125 under water! Those things are water dogs!

I have an '84 KDX 200 that I swim with everytime I go out. I constently put the water line up over the engine, she just keeps on chuggin. Lotta fun.

none once your engine runs out of air

It doesn't really matter how much HP you have underwater. If you are starting to lose power and are nowhere near the other side of the puddle, chances are you arn't going to make it.

I once raced a KX 125 under water. I pushed my KDX out before he did.

Never had to push the bike out of the water yet. But I know it's afraid of ice... can't be me

Photo: this trail had seven water xings
