Hey guys and gals found your site and loving it. So much info. it's like having a KDX dictionary. I was wondering how many of you are from tennessee? looking for more friends to ride with this year. And how I could get in touch with you. Still very new to the site so any input is appreciated. Do you guys usually use messengers or what?

Posted by: yater---------------------

I'll be doing lots of riding in Arkansas. I live in east Texas though. You ever make it to the Clarkesville or Mena areas?

Posted by: jcddfd---------------------

I'm in east tenn you can get me at outdoor sports in knoxville just ask for big John.

Posted by: Braahp---------------------

2 wheeler ....you just happen to have one of the best riding areas in the whole USA just a few miles from you between Cookeville and Livingston. PM me your email and such and I'll give you a holler next time we ride.

Where is that?

Posted by: layoutd---------------------

i live in chatt, what place between cookeville and livingston? coal creek? aren't there some honey spots along the sequatchie valley?

Posted by: 2wheeler---------------------

Hey braahp I tried PM it says I don't have the privilages for this page. I tried clicking on your user name and went to User CP got same thing. What am I doing wrong. Be patient I real new to the way things work.

Posted by: dddford---------------------

I moved from New Orleans to Chattanooga last year and bought a KDX200 and 220 for my sons. There is a "motorcycle resort" in Sequachie TN. - 600 acres of trails and cabins/campsites. It is called the Trials Training Center and they sponsor trials competitions and teach trials riding as well.

Posted by: john_bilbrey---------------------

Hey Braahp, you interested in going out Monday? We're gonna hit the Cove around 10AM, snow or no snow! Gimme a shout....
Oh, I also got the RaceTech springs installed by the dude in Murfreesboro. Ride report to follow!

Posted by: Engloid---------------------

I'm in Knoxville, TN. I'm about 20 mins from Wind Rock Mountain. Went there riding today, actually.

Posted by: 2wheeler---------------------

The next time we go up that way I will send you an email and maybe get together. Was the riding good up there, we went to Livingston. Had a great time.

Posted by: Engloid---------------------

It was ok, but still a little bit wet. No large puddles in the trails, but there were quite a few slick spots still.

Posted by: john_bilbrey---------------------

What did you think about Livingston 2wheeler? We're heading up there tomorrow morning (Monday) if the cold doesn't scare us off.
It's some of the best riding I've ever experienced. I'm anxious to try my new springs!

Posted by: 2wheeler---------------------

I agree totally!!!!! We had a awesome time. It was just me and one other friend going and we didn't know the area so we just planned on poking around and exploring. But we ran into group of pupkins(KTM) and asked to ride with them and had a blast. Where do you live? If you know the area would love to ride with you sometime. Gonna try and hook up with Braahp sometime, Do you know him?

Posted by: mnnthbx---------------------

Where is Livingston? Any details on the riding? I'm in Seymour, just outside of Knox.. I end up at Windrock 80% of the time, and wouldn't mind seeing something new.

Posted by: tennkx---------------------

how is windrock? I live in nashville and am always looking for new places to ride.

Posted by: john_bilbrey---------------------

Livingston is about 20 minutes north of Cookeville on highway 111. Take exit 288 off I-40 and go north....and you're in the woods in about 20 minutes. Some great riding up there - everything from fast sand/log roads to nasty, muddy, rocky hills. You can ride up there all day and not hit the same trail twice if you want.

Posted by: 2wheeler---------------------

Hey John did you ride up there New Year's day. I was there, was the first time I met Braahp. Would love to ride with you guys some time PM or email me somtime.

Posted by: kingsxjt---------------------

I live in Murfreesboro. Been to Windrock once and really liked it. We usually ride at Westpointe (outside Lawrenceburg, part of the NATRA club). They have some really good tight woods trails.

Posted by: john_bilbrey---------------------

No, I didn't make it up there on New Years. I know Braahp and lots of the others up there. There is a big HS coming up next weekend in Sparta.

Posted by: John Harris---------------------

Any of you East Tenn boys ever remember riding up near Standing Stone State Park around the Cumberland River an around an old settlement called NoBusiness? Is that now part of some Federal preserve/nature area etc.? Memories. Thanks John

I ride at Westpoint a lot. They have really improved the trails lately and marked them better than before. It's well worth $40.00 per year. Some of the best single track you'll find.

Posted by: kingsxjt---------------------

Yeah man! We were up there New Year's Day and the trails were FRESH!

Posted by: a peering swift---------------------

dddford - just saw your message under the Tennessee topic.

i live in cleveland and have been looking for a place to ride..i'm willing to haul for a good ride, especially for a 600 acre spot. would you email me at jsmithofbibbybeach@yahoo.com and hook me up with some info about where to ride out here? i ride a kx250f. i mostly drive back to alabama to ride with pals about once, sometimes twice/month. i have a crew of guys who would love to come up and ride. drop me a line man if you have time and let me get some info from you and maybe we could all get together and ride sometime. we love hscrambles and some mx stuff too

Posted by: Kwakasaki---------------------

I am right outside of Memphis TN. Other than a few motocross tracks and a couple of 4 wheeler areas that are complete rutted out crap holes there are very few places to ride. I have seen many places listed east of Jackson TN and soon I will be headed that way to find them.

Posted by: JasonRan---------------------

Hey guys! I'm in Huntsville, Alabama, just south of the Tennessee border. My brother lives in Murfreesboro, so we ride a lot in Tennessee. About the only place we have been is Westpoint and 143 Off Road though. I'd love to find some new places to ride in the area. Keep me in the loop as to good places to roost!

Thanks!
Jason

Posted by: a peering swift---------------------

I once visited websites related to Knoxville and/or Middle Tennesee riders, but haven't tried to get in touch with any of these guys. there has to be some good riding spots out here though.

In alabama, there are at least two places we visit often. one is called waxahachie 180 - they have about an 8 mile loop that was set up for a scramble last month. it's in Jemison, AL, about 35 min. south of BHAM. they are open every saturday from 9-6 cst. another is in Maplesville, AL. it also known as Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club. they vhave probably the best hscramble type trails i have been on. however they limit riding availability to periodical fun runs, AMA Harescrambles, ocasional buddy h-scramble, and an annual 24 hr race. they have been in business for over 20 years i think, but for whatever reason limit their "open-rides" to a minimal amount of days. they have a website that can be found by searching for Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club.

well, lets get a tn ride together...

Posted by: saveaux---------------------

jbrim, and kwakasaki - I'm from Bartlett and would love to go anywhere that has decent trails (not completely rutted up / 2 feet under water.)

Posted by: 04kdx200---------------------

Hey Jasonran....... I'm in Huntsville too, me, my brother and my neighbor ride westpoint from time to time. Are you a NATRA member?

Wouls love too, i sent you an email with information on cantacting me. If you do not receive it let me know here. Thanks!

Posted by: JasonRan---------------------

Hey 04kdx200, good to see another Huntsvillian on the board! Yeah, my dad, brother, and I are all NATRA members. We are a rare breed as most of the people that ride at Westpoint are not members. Unfortunately, that's not helping our case up in Westpoint. It's a good place to ride though. We go to the Bankhead Forest a lot too and ride the Flint Creek Multi Use trail. Have you been on it? They recently smoothed out the whole trail and it made it way too fast. They let walkers, horses, bicycles, etc on the trail so it can be pretty dangerous. We have also ridden up in Kentucky at Land Between the Lakes. It was a LOT of fun up there! Do you ride anywhere else in the area?

Posted by: showard---------------------

Hey Jbrim, My neighbor and I are in Collierville and often go down to Potts Dam. It would be great to get together with others from the area to check out some new places. I would love to ride with someone who knows some decent riding in the area. There is usually three of us including his son.

Posted by: 04kdx200---------------------

Nah, just behind the house here, and go to local hs's, and bhs's, nothing to big for me, now my bro on the other hand......

Posted by: saveaux---------------------

Collierville eh? Bartlett here, I would love to ride with anyone in the area as all my friends have hunting 4wheelers, and I have no one to ride with on 2 wheels. Email - Bcbracing2000@yahoo.com leave me a message so we can get together (that goes for you Mississippians as well)

Posted by: jbrim---------------------

hey saveaux, showard and Kwakasaki. e-mail me with some contact info and we will get together. I have only been riding dirtbikes for a bout a year and a half so I'm not the fastest rider around. I converted from a 4 wheeler and I'm still learning. The group I ride with are good people always safe and keep an eye on each other. E-mail me at jbrim@midsouth.rr.com

Posted by: OldTimer---------------------

I hear Pickwick has some good trails, of course that was from a couch rider. Any of you guys been out there? Sugar Creek? Where do you guys ride in Hernando?

Posted by: saveaux---------------------

I rode Sugarcreek about a week and a half ago. It has a gravel creekbed to ride down (My rear wheel bearings had water in them afterward) which isn't much fun. It has trails that end as soon as you start to have fun (we never found any that were longer than a mile.) And a dirt bike track. I was told that you can ride "some" trail all the way to the Mississippi River, hmm, this must have been an elusive trail because we couldn't find it, nevertheless it must be there.

I just got a bike after 5+ years of not owning one so I've lost contact with most of my riding buddies or they no longer ride, so I'm not too sure as to where to ride (or with who for that matter.) I plan on making it to the MMC meeting next month, perhaps I can meet some new people and learn more places to ride.

We ride Sugar Creek every weekend, the "trial to the river" does not exist. It is the creek bed when the water is low enough. Once you past the bridge it is posted no trespassing and there were people out there last weekend enforcing it. Other than some rutted out 4 wheeler trails there is a small motocross track that is fun but right now it is ALL dust and when the 4wheeler geeks invade you cant see three feet in front of yourself. When the 4 wheelers arrvie they ride the wrong way on the track, they dust everyone out doing circles, ride over all the berms and destroy them and have zero courtesy. They are trying hard to groom the track and keep water on it but you cant beat mother nature and the ahole 4wheelers right now. Thats why im hunting for new places. When I hear from Jbrim we will let you know and hopefully get a local riders together in a nice place to ride.

Posted by: saveaux---------------------

Hey Kwakasaki thanks for the follow up on Sugar Creek, your review confirmed it for me that its not really what its all hyped up to be. Speaking of Sugar Creek, have you ever seen anyone do the jumps close to the creek that go from the ground launch all the way up to the hill? Or do they jump off the top of the hill to the ground, either way I'd love to see someone do that.

Posted by: Nevada Sixx---------------------

anyone rode at that "trials training center"? is it worth driving 4 or 5 hours to ride there?
thanks.

Posted by: JasonRan---------------------

04kdx200...I hear ya man. I am pretty new to the sport, but love a good challenge. I haven't raced in anything yet, and probably won't for several years. Similiar to you though, my brother is an awesome rider and does hairscrambles, enduros, etc. He spends a lot of time waiting on me. I caught up to him once and he had half his gear off and his spark plug changed. It made me mad.

Posted by: 04kdx200---------------------

jason, we'll all have to get together and ride someday, my bro and neighbor are natra members, and you said you were, right?

Posted by: JasonRan---------------------

Yep, we are all NATRA members. We should definitely get together and ride once the weather cools off!

Posted by: jowens66---------------------

I'm here in southern middle TN. Right around where they make Jack Daniels Whiskey :D (Lynchburg). Would love to get together and go ride with some of yall and get some help with jetting my carb right and all that good stuff.

Posted by: GabeM---------------------

MTDR will soon be having it's 6th anual Spring ride at Loretta Lynn's ranch. Dates are March 30, 31st and April 1st. Hope to see lot of KDX's there.
Check for info at
www.mtdr.net
for additional riding around middle TN, why don't you consider joining MTDR, we hold at least one club ride a month.

Posted by: JasonRan---------------------

jowens,

Hey! I love Lynchburg. The wife and I come up there a couple times a year to tour the distilley and eat at Mary Bo Bo's. We also camp at Tims Ford every once in a while. You are only about an hour from me (I'm in Huntsville). Where do you normally ride at up there?

Posted by: jowens66---------------------

My family has about 400 acres on the outskirts of Lynchburg. Lots of cleared off hills and then alot of hills that are wooded and have rocks and such. Mostly trail riding on the farm. Yeah, the distillery is awesome and you can't beat Mrs. BoBo's cooking. Did you know they are adding onto the restaraunt?

Posted by: kingsxjt---------------------

I'm here in TN, right outside Murfreesboro. We ride at Westpoint alot and also Woolie's offroad when I take my boy on his 50. If you haven't been to Westpoint you need to check it out! Best I've ridden around here. It is NATRA club land so you need a membership or you can ride with a member to check it out to see if you want to join. It's $50 bucks a year for an entire family. Every time I go I find new trails, can't say enough about how hard those guys work to make the riding great!

Posted by: jowens66---------------------

Anyone ride in "The Cove"? There is an entrance to it in tracy city and i believe it comes out in South Pittsburg at a trials bike place? Not sure. I have been in the cove in big 4x4's and fourwheelers, but have yet to take my dirtbike yet.
