Question about my CRF450R

I bought a new 2004 CRF 450R earlier this year and I have only put about six hours on it. I rode it at night for the first time tonight and the pipe was glowing red at the head. I killed it and fire shot out the back. Is this normal? I have owned bikes all my life but I never noticed any of them doing this. (They were all two stroke) Thanks for your help.

The glowing headpipe is normal.

when i was with my friend who has a raptor it was dark out and when we stopped once u could see the header glowing red, it looked pretty cool

Although I don't smoke, I guess if you did you wouldn't have to carry a lighter with you
