They lengthened the center dividers on both the intake and exhaust ports. They also raised the floor of the exhaust port.

Mark what do you think they were trying to achieve doing this?? ive heard a few tuners claim the head can be modified on the 05 to produce alot more power-talk of a real 39rwhp.

From the dynos ive seen, the numbers look the same as the 04. Some riders say they can feel a bit more top on the 05 than 04, but it does not show. That extra top feel may be more of the ign. curve change, than port mods.

OBTW, cool pics Mark!!

wonder what the pre edited version was steve LOL your usual pc self?

My experience is basically what steve125 has said. I know there was alot talk of intake valve imbalance on the 04. The 05 does not make more hp than the 04 stock, but it does have a broader healthier midrange. You notice it wheeling down a straight as your shifting, seems to pull longer and harder. the ignition and flywheel are different.

We believe we were a solid 36-37hp last year and our bikes were pretty strong. I did ride a 05 semi-factory Kawi that hauled. It was rumored at 40+ and I was surprised how strong it was. It was not especially powerfull feeling down low or in the middle but it revved out so hard and smooth. I'm enclined to believe the internals were lightened, compresion was close to stock and ignition and fuel were magic.

Maybe Rich or Mike Perry could chime in on the port changes.

Mark - I haven't had a chance to put the new RMZ head on the flow bench but I've been playing with changing the flow bias side to side on the 2004 CRF250 heads. It's still early but there really appears to be some value in changing the "look" (for lack of a better term) that the valves get at the rest of the intake tract.

Mike perry commented on the new 05' head being much improved. That the oem was mimicking some of what he had done to our 04' castings. It also sounded like a "production run" of Kibblewhite spring kit components were nearing release. There should be a run on these, as we know they are a superior product.

Least someone should take what Marc posted the wrong way-
I noticed that the new head has changes that make the intake pocket similar to what I was trying to achieve on the head he sent us.

I'm sure Suzuki figured that out themselves, not from looking at my stuff.

Mike
