I've been waiting for today for so long and cant wait to find out the results, although I've got to wait a week to see the race because I live in the UK. Reed has got to be the favourite as we know he is a faster supercross rider than RC, and I think Bubba will ride over his head. Just have to wait and see!

Posted by: RYDMOTO---------------------

I just checked intellicast.looks like rain all day and evening

Posted by: Chili---------------------

And from what I saw last night the rumor was they are cancelling the day qualifiers, seeding 40 riders into two heats to determine the main. Tough day to be a privateer who spent a bunch of cash getting to Anaheim.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

another Spain... Ugg.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

Just heard a rumor that A1 will not count for points due too rain

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

They've all but cancelled it

Posted by: super rat---------------------

What?!?!!

Why would any of the top guys even race it then? Risk getting hurt for no points, don't make any sense to me...

My thoughts exactly.

If true, I'm guessing they won't.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

Ive looked around, havent seen any info at teh AMA site or RacerX.. heard this rumor from a friend .. I think the sponsors would want the riders too race, being that they are getting paid too race..

Posted by: Uchytil---------------------

This had better be a bad dream.

Posted by: buffmaster---------------------

Just checked the Supercross site and still no info. This bites! I'm wondering what they're going to do if they cancel. Re-schedule for when?

The heavy rain has paused for now, but another wave is due to hit us later today or tonight. There's still a slim chance that this could turn into a race.

Posted by: jboomer---------------------

It's official! They're drawing straws for the main event tonight! Full points race too! Check RacerX for the details. I sure hope RC and JBS's straws were drawn! Only 7 slots available for them!

Anaheim 1 is ON!

Posted by: Chili---------------------

RC and MC will be in as past champions, if that is the only preselection criteria it should leave Bubba and TP looking for a spot in the draw. Wonder how many of the guys who already have World SX series points aren't even going to get a chance to race and lose even more points on the leaders?

Posted by: oldguy---------------------

are they changing something up?

In SX everyone has to qualify for the night program only in the Nationals do the top 10 and past champs get a guarrenteed gate

"Past Champions" ... if I had to guess, would mean 125 Champs as well, even if in the 250's this year.

Posted by: biglou---------------------

This is kinda cool:

$10K / 90 = $111.00 each. Not even enough for gas to get there.

Better than a hot poker in the eye.

Posted by: YZ165---------------------

Indeed.

Posted by: rickyd---------------------

They should of called the race the other day, been raining up here now for a week solid.. Cost teh privateers money and also the fans lose out.. They could of called it and recheduled it..

125 SX is regarded as a "regional" rather than "national" champeenship. But, I would imagine they'll put Stewart and Pastrana in anyhow, just because of who they are.

INFORMATION BULLETIN ABOUT RIDERS SELECTED TO RACE THE THQ WORLD SUPERCROSS GP/THQ AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES FROM ANAHEIM, CA
AMA Pro Racing

Jan. 8, 2005

INFORMATION BULLETIN
AMA Pro Racing announces the following information bulletin for the January 8th, 2005,

THQ/AMA Supercross from Anaheim

The below criteria was used to select the 80 riders total seeded for the night program
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the 250 Supercross - 2004 Series
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the two World Rounds THQ/FIM - 2005 Series
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the 250 AMA Motocross Championship - 2004
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the 125 Supercross East Regional Championship - 2004
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the 125 Supercross West Regional Championship - 2004
" Riders that finished in the top 40 in the 125 AMA Motocross Championship - 2004
" Past Champions in Supercross or Motocross

To arrive at 40 riders total for each class after using the above criteria there will be a random drawing with the remaining riders for Anaheim 1.

One would assume this all means that if a rider was champ last year in the 125's for example and now in the 250's, the championship counts in his current class. There is NO WAY they write a plan that could potentially leave 2 major stars out.

Posted by: XRpredator---------------------

easy there Texie! I'm just sayin' that normally the 125 SX championships are considered regional. They aren't counted in the total wins for RC, MC, or anyone else for that matter.

But, like you said, peeps wanna see Stewart and Pastrana, so Clear Channel is gonna do all they can to keep those two in there.

suckers walk, money talks, but it can't touch my three lock box.

Posted by: whyzee---------------------

so, are they still playing for points tonight?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Yes

Do you get the race on TV? Which channel is it on? I live in Finland and would sure like to get some race coverage if it's on satellite TV.

Thanks.

Posted by: brit yz125---------------------

Anssi, if youve got Sky TV, and you can get channel five, Anaheim 1 will be shown on the early hours of Tuesday 18th of Jan at approx 2pm GMT. Check your tv listings and let me know if you can watch it. The entire supercross and motocross season is shown, its just always a week late.

Posted by: Anssi---------------------

Thanks a whole bunch. I don't have Sky right now, but I'll have to look into my possibilities of getting it. I already have AB Moteurs ( http://www.abmoteurs.fr/ ), they show all the MX1 and MX2 World Championship motos live.

Posted by: Tony Williams---------------------

Gee, how much could a guy bootleg DVD's of this race?
