Why would they build the track knowing it was going to rain all weekend out ouf clay? Daytona is mostly sand, wonder if anyone thought to use mostly sand and not just do the typical thing with the clay? If it looks like a ton of rain at A2, would be cool to see some outside the box thinking on track construction.

well you know Wardy there is a shortage of sand over in that area of the country. They might have to drive alll the way to the Pacific ocean beaches to get any.
I had the same thought as I watched the 125 rounds this morning. At least cover the clay track with 6 inches or more of sand. Might slow some of the jumps but at least they would have been better then what they were riding on and that "bike graveyard" was interesting as an obstacle

Don't they already own the dirt and store it somewhere close to the venues?
Last big fun in mud I had was at your place as a matter of fact; fell over in a damn 3 foot deep mud hole.
