? on 250F gearing

I just noticed in a mag that the of the four 05 250 thumpers, CRF,KXF/RMZ, and YZF, the CRF has final gearing of 51/13 while the others have 48/13.
Do you know why the CRF is radically different? Is there any reason not to put a 48/13 combo on the CRF250R?

Honda has never followed anyone, just take a look at their heads, totally different from every other MFG.

Tough one as you need data on the trans ratios and the primary gearing. A tooth here and tooth there on inside will make big changes, so final drives can mean little.
Just like the 250X and R have different final ratios but with the different Primary ratios results are quite not what one expects.
