I have a 2005 kx250f and it runs great when you are on the gas or when idleing. As soon as you let off it pops and back fires more than it should. Some people told me it was jetted to lean but i think that would affect it when you give it gas too. Any ideas?

Back the pilot screw out a bit. Some popping on deceleration is optimal. loud popping/backfiring is a too lean condition. Air leaks will cause loud popping/backfiring also. FWIW, an aftermarket pilot screw adjuster is a worthwhile investment for frequent fine-tuning. Zip-Ty is one place to get one.
