I'm looking to get back into trail riding and am thinking of either getting a new 03 xr 250 or a new 03 DRZ 400 and am looking for opinions on what to choose. My last bike was a 86 XR 250, which I thought was lacking in power and torque. The XR is listed at 240 lbs dry, and the DRZ at 262. I'm wondering if the added weight will worth the trade off in power. I'm not a really aggressive rider, and I'd prefer a Honda over a Suzuki, but the 400 seems to be what I'm leaning towards for the increase in power from the 400 Both bikes are the same price, 3799.00 US
What about the differences in quality and dependability and performance?
Any Suggestions?
Thanks

An XR400 out of the question? You like Honda but want a 400, so I was wandering why it wasn't an option. If you'd consider a two stroke trail bike, the KDX220 is what I've been riding and I love it. The power delivery is very 4 strokish down low, unlike an MX 2stroke.

If you want a Honda and want a 400 then pick up a XR400 or pick up the XR250 an mod it a little and you'll have 400 level power in a smaller package.

I'd love to get a xr 400 but haven't been able to find any 03's or 04's and I'd like to get a new non current model to save some $

Although I had an XR and never rode a DRZ, I think it vote for the DRZ. 2 reasons: 1) It's a stealth bike with great power - one of the quietest bikes ever , and 2) THE BUTTON!!!!
