No new YZ450F for 06??

Anyone have DirtBike or Dirt Rider? Rumor has it that one of them is reporting no new YZF for 06 due to a major engine redesign.

Anyone have any info?

I saw that quote in DR to.
I gotta believe that there is no way that Yamaha can go another year w/their current design. Especially on the 450 (the 250F still ranks close to the top w/its old design). Honda, Suzuki & even KTM have made great strides w/their 450's. Yamaha really needs to come out swinging if they want to win back some market share!

I think the yzf 250 is way outdated-very top heavy and old feeling, you see very few 05s here, one rider had to import a 04 from canada last season as no shop had bothered to order any.

I find this hard to belive as most of the others are basicly just knock offs of the YZFs and the hondas a pile of junk, but i wouldnt put it past Yam to come up with somthing new. Honda has proven you can hype junk and make it sale.lol
I have a friend thats in the hole about $3K but has a fine rolling chassey.

I also feel that yamaha will release a redesign of there 4-strokes. It would be a bad from a marketing standpoint to not update there best sellers.

I have and ride a 99YZ400F, 02 GAS GAS 300, 03 KTM 450exc and ride all of them and have never had the thought
run through my head of man this thing is out of date.
The yamaha motor is the best motor now and will likely be till they come out with a new design. The others are copys of the YZ motor and the honda isnt worth compairing to the yamaha.

That's why they have to redesign the engine to hold oil so they can put it in their aluminum chassis...no place to put the oil in the alloy frame. Who's copying who?

Whats more important than the actual frame to me, especially with the yz450f is the really tall feeling. Doesn't it feel like you are sitting really high up?? I don't feel that with there 2-strokes and maybe also since I ride different brand. I think yamaha lovers would be very disapointed if they didn't release that frame this year.

That is actually the only thing I dont like about Yamaha is the tall feeling. I jumped on a WR450 geez that thing was the tallest bike ever, (even my 6ft tall friend thought so too) but I guess they lowered it a bit for 05 which is good to hear. As for honda being junk, well that torque was a bit nice on that CRF450 I got to ride sooo more junk for me please.

go yamaha, yamaha lovers would not be disapointed if they didnt come out with a new frame Who cares about the frame when the engines have the most power GO YAMAHA!!!

dont you think the bike i own is awesome ( i got it for $10 because people are figuring out that honda sucks lol)? i wonder what the brand is? well this might help people decide what brand it is: its slow, and reliable. not that great of a bike, i would rather have fast and not as reliable. woulnt you?

OK, OK ILL TELL YOU WHAT THE BRAND IS, its a honda

Finally someone that knows what hes talking about. He is 100% correct. Honda's make piles of junk, and some people just dont see it. Honda's are basicaly like riding a bike with training wheels...slow and for newbs. If it wasnt for Yamaha the thumper lovers woulnt be so happy, and because of that I think all the people that love the new thumpers should praise Yamaha. People say Honda's crf250/450r rule but they woulnt exist if it wasnt for yamaha! every time i see someone saying crf's are best and YZf's suck, i get very issed:
