I took my new, old 2002 KX250 out in the street yesterday and I was doing a few laps up and down the street and I grabbed a handfull of front brakes and the front end dove pretty hard, so where do I start. I am a big guy 230 lbs. I know I need heavier fork springs and a heavier rear spring but until I can come up with the cash any suggestions. I havent been on a bike in awhile and am kind of stumped by all the adjustments any help would be great thanks. Did I mention I just got the bike, so I am not sure of how it was ridden in the past. I can tell you its super clean and tight. Roost On!!!!!!!

On the street, your front tire gets a more traction that it would in the dirt, so more dive would be expected. But stiffer springs are your first step. After getting springs, I would ride it with the current rider's settings and see if it works OK for you, but if it still dives too much with the right springs you would want to add some compression damping to the forks.

You might also want to change the pad compound... one with less bite but more progressive feel.
