Midvalve removal...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'd like to remove my midvalve (1999 YZ250). There are two reasons I want to remove it. First is I'm an engineer and I have to see what it looks like and second, the damper rod has some rust on it and I want to remove the entire rod so I can clean off all the rust. Don't ask me how rust could get on this rod. I just bought the bike.

I've read a few explanations and it sounds like I have to partially drill out the 4 pressed points. Does anyone know of a site with some pictures of this. I was thinking of using standard bit to drill, but I would imagine it would have to be a large bit so as to cover the entire pressed area without drilling to deep. Any suggestions on the size of the bit. I've read MX-Techs article, but it is kinda vague. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
