that 450 rider was going really fast!!!

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

Its a shame the best rider in the world ever(KW) is 2 seconds a lap slower??

Posted by: nephron---------------------

It's all sarcasm, baby. Just sarcasm.

Posted by: Treejumper---------------------

Yeah but i heard something about Bubba dumping it in the second set of whoops in practice. Nothing more than that so cant say what happened.

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Not just practice anymore haters... passed and pulled AWAY from RC , setting the fastest lap of the night in his heat race...

Posted by: SpectraSVT---------------------

2.8secs isn't exactly pulling away. Did I miss something on the webcast?

GIve him 20 laps that lead may be quite a bit bigger

Posted by: Reesknight---------------------

Is this gonna be the spoiler thread??

Posted by: pace---------------------

Results are up on sxgp.com..

Posted by: super rat---------------------

Is it hating if what you thought was going to happen did?

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

No spoiler here.

Posted by: pace---------------------

I'll be honest and admit I had imagined the order of the first two would be reversed, but otherwise it's as I expected.

Posted by: super rat---------------------

It's good to have the kid back and he goes like stink for sure.

If your worried about learning the results, stay away from threads about any races you may watch on TV.

Posted by: pro2k---------------------

Posted by: 03-dr650---------------------

LOL seems like one of us is in denial-bubba is unreal but IMO may never fulfill his potential, lets examine this season, he could have won the title in his rookie year and better even RC-but he did the same thing as before, he just chucks away titles he could win.

It seems to me with bubba its 50/50, loose one win one, with rc its like loose one win 8

Posted by: nephron---------------------

Give him some time, Marcus. Remember RC's 1st yr out on a 250? Remember Bubba's 1st yr out on a 125? Remember his last several seasons on a 125?

Bubba will calm down soon...probably now, actually, since he now knows he can whip both of their asses any time he wants.

IMO, the best news of the night was his backing off and settling in for 3rd. Who thought he would ever be capable of that? I didn't. It seems we may be getting to see a more stable rider from here on out.

Posted by: SpectraSVT---------------------

I would hope he would have the smarts to back off after all the mistakes he made. He's fast and this race probably had his nerves on a edge a bit. Hopefully, next race we should see the real Bubba.

The only negative thing I see is that Reed and RC will get faster as Bubba gets faster, further distancing themselves from the rest of the field. I wonder if putting someone down 2 laps will be possible in the near future.

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

neph LOL he backed off after crashing in practice and the main?? and you say hes maturing?? how silly would he have looked if he got injured??

Last I checked he went faster than he could, crashed and finished third. All he knows so far is that he can get third!

Posted by: 03-dr650---------------------

what he learned on saturday is that RC is not the unbeatable machine everyone makes him out to be. Reed realized that too last week finally and now his confidence level is where he needs it to be.

And i'm sure alot of you have noticed a funny thing about Carmichael.. when he's not leading.. he crashes..

Stewart smoked RC in the heat race, even closed him out REAL nice on a berm the same way RC closed Windham out a few weeks ago. i hope espn plays that back in slo-mo over and over.

In the main, Stewart snuck in, grabbed the lead, and just pulled and pulled and pulled away until he went down. He knows if he really wants it, 1st place is his for the taking... every week.

and that's the way i see it! bring it!

Posted by: Crossryder---------------------

If he crashed he was riding ovr and over and over his head and it caught up to him. Same for RC.

About as silly as RC has looked going down multiple recent times. Whether there's an injury or not is no one's blaming...just chance.

Posted by: 03-dr650---------------------

i'd have to venture a guess and say its alot easier to break your arm going over the whoops when your lap times are almost 3 seconds faster than RC's. hell yes!

Not really, if rc goes down hes played the numbers game well -hes had many races this season , and not finished out of points apart from once in the mud? bubba has hardly raced this season and crashed in most of those races-not rocket science neph so people would excuse RC and not bubba.

One thing i dont get, is people impressed with a riders speed who cant seem to stay on there bike?? im only impressed with speed if a rider can do it day in day out, under the pressure of a 250 main.RC and Chad have done this, Bubba hasnt. I think he has the skills and the ability to do it, but hes so keen to prove himself to be 'the man' he makes mistakes, its just like pasty-instead of bieng 'the man' he was 'the village idiot' lets hope bubba doesnt copy him

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Marcus.. open your eyes bro, RC is NOT staying on the bike. You're beginning to sound like a boozer, rationalizing his booze

Posted by: Okiewan---------------------

Oh wait.. the Brit version of rationalizing... "rationalising" ?

Come on man, he's only competed in three races this season because of a single crash-induced injury. It's pretty disingenuous to claim that he can't stay on the bike in 'most of his races', when he hasn't been present for the vast majority of them. Especially when one was a mud bath where everybody went down at some point.

Maybe you missed all of the 2004 indoor and outdoor seasons. How many times did he go down? Riding a 125 in the 250F class for most of the season IIRC.

You comments would apply very well to Travis Pastrana, but Bubba is a different animal. He's already proven his ability to the masses, and that he has the commitment it takes to win multiple championships. Heralding Stewart's arrival in the 250 class does not detract from Carmichael's talent - we all realize who is 'the man', but clearly Bubba's speed matches the two title contenders and his racecraft is getting there. He's a smart kid, and if you watch him closely I think it's clear that he learns from past experience and adapts accordingly. The fact that he made the podium instead of crashing a second time trying to regain the lead, speaks volumes about his judgement and maturity IMHO.

RC has proven he can fall AND still win...

Some of these posts are reminiscent of the "MC's career is over" talk back in 97'...

you prove my point totally, he only completed 3 races so far this season-doesnt matter how fast he was in them , cant win if your not on the start line??

How many races he done this season and not crashed?

no i watched almost every 2004 race, didnt see him race against rc or reed-just 125 riders who were beat before they started, i stand by what i said, i said bubba would crash out at the start of the season-i was right- so far he is going to plan 100%

Im not a hater of bubba, he is amazing but needs to mature, RC should get the respect he deserves and so does reed(rc more so as he has such a amazing record) reed deserves it as he tries so hard, bubba has the talent to make them both loose, but instead thorws the chance away. Lets hope he does stop crashing soon as it will hurt.

Posted by: marcusgunby---------------------

Okie last time i looked RC was in #1 and bubba was #21? he maybe not staying on but he has a 30 point leed and can get 3rd in all the races left and still win-bubba cant win even if he laps rc in every race-i can see the difference i cant see how people dont see it the way i do?
