may be purchasing an 03 YZ450F. any issues with this model? sugestions?

Ive heard the handling isnt that great for the year....heard that they improved it in 04.

There was a noisy/grabby clutch issue, I think Yam has a kit for fixing this, not sure. There were do-it-yourself fixes as well. And yes, the Yam's don't turn like the CRF's do, IMO.

Do a search on the grabby or notchy clutch. My bike had the problem and the dealer fixed it. I heard the 1 in 3 bikes were affected. Change out one fiber plate from a 02 426, the springs from the 02 426 and shorten the clutch actuator arm by 3mm. You'll like the bike, put a Rekluse autoclutch in it and your will REALLY like the bike.
