my moto is be part of life, not a spectator.

so how is your racing going this season?

Considering I had my first race yesterday I feel good comming into this season. For one, i'm on a new bike and with all the snow I had ZERO track time on it so I was happy. Raced 2 classes, went 12 and 9 for 9th overall and 9 and 4 for 6th overall. I'm getting good starts, was 3rd and 2ond on each first moto starts but ended up falling on 1st lap in each moto!
God start for the season for me at least.

since i'm not racing anymore, i voted for my daughter kendall. she is doing fairly well. she won the women's class in the local arenacross series, ran second at a loretta's area qualifier, and has two sixth place finishes in the state championships so far. she is alternating between racing her big wheel 85 and borrowed 250f's whenever possible. she could stand some improvement on jumping as she has become a little timid since she seperated her shoulder last summer. this is really hurting her results.

as for me, it's been nearly three years since i raced. tentative plan is to be racing again by dirtweek.

I have 4 races under my belt this year, all hare scrambles, and I'll be happy if I can race 4 MX's this year. My results have been OK but I'm definitely not at the top of my game, sad to say but I think my best days are behind me. I'm just glad when I get the chance to line up and race.

Good news we will be looking forward to it! my own has been really mixed alternating between cirling the track by myself in 6th (out of seven) to dicing for 4th (out of 15) depends on the day, my state chamiponships are shot, too many other things have reared their ugly head

Havent gotten any Mx in yet this year but moved up to "AA" in local HS and "A" in national events. It feels good to run with the big dogs, I'm learning a ton from the Vet class boys.

broke a couple of ribs at the season opener first week of March following a guy instead of getting around...I'll get back w/ you on the 24th (so far... )

This will be my first ever year of racing My first EVER race (a few years ago didn't go well at all). A buddy talked me into doing a Harescramble a few months ago, finished about 3rd......... from last Those Harescrambles are so long and hard to ride (on my bike) it just about killed me. So I did about the only thing I could do, dropped a few lbs, hit the weights, and prepped my bike which has been stock for the last 3 years. Man, I'm sooooo excited I don't even care to watch racing on TV anymore.

I haven't started yet, I'm so out of shape right now I'd get slaughtered out there. I'd be lucky to not get lapped. Working on it though, I should be ready to get my butt whipped in a few weeks or so...

I've done 1 local HS, 1 GNCC and this weekend will be my first MX of the year. Racing 3 classes.

I don't have the disposable income this year to race as much as I have in the past. My wife and I were laid off last year and we took a big hit (over $45k combined) in our yearly income.

The good news is I LOVE the job I have now. Now I just have to get the wife working again so I can race... I mean have a kid (wife is looking over my shoulder ).

I can't believe that there are up wards of 20 people who actually race on this board, I would have never of guessed it.

dropped a lot of coin for a couple plastic trophies . . .

sewer rat, you need a man-hug?

Posted by: super rat---------------------

I don't really know to much about what goes on up in Idaho but what exactly is a man hug? I have a feeling you'd fit in well in California.

Sounds like a yes to me Pred

Posted by: super rat---------------------

Dirt rider, I think I'm starting to catch on. Nice play on words.

Anyway, do you guys have anything other than your dirt riding experience to contribute to this racing thread?

I did my first race last week at Raushe Creek. It was a vintage race that my buddies dragged me to and I got 3rd in the historic 250 expert and 2nd in modern expert. both motos there were like 25 riders in both classes. I rode a 76 IS 250 Yamaha in the historic and my CR 250 cylinder cracked again on the second lap but I managed to limp it home for second.

One race, one shiny plastic trophy. That ain't sayin' much though. Looking to win the night series at Moberly, MO (HLR Motorsports) this year. It's 175 miles one way, but a great, fun place to race. The racers there are more relaxed and easy going than close to home. Unfortunately, my buddy who's faster than me is hooked on racing this place. Maybe I should try to hook him back up with his psychobee-otch g/f for the summer? We never see him when they are, um, together!
