ANother comparison please, I really need to get a new bike, help. How does the KDX 220 compare to the WR450F. Im 250 LBS. The KDx I know is smaller but also 2000$ cheaper. This is for fun trail riding, maybe an enduro or 2 but I'm by no means looking to race proffessionally. Thanks.

It's really hard to go wrong with a KDX....

I've ridden 'em both and they are great bikes. It really comes down do personal preference. If you like 4-strokes, you'll love the WR250F. While the KDX is - shall we be kind here - a bit dated, it can be brought-up to speed with some easy mods.
Last summer I rode a KDX200 back-to-back with a WR250F on some trails. The KDX belonged to Wolf. His KDX had an EG225 engine and Gold Valve Emulators. It was damn sweet. The best KDX I've ever ridden. The WR belongs to Rooster. Out of the box, a very nice bike.
I liked them both, but for different reasons. The KDX had a great snap and the suspension was telepathic. It is also lighter than the WR, a difference that can be felt. Wolf's KDX was a real joy to ride. The WR just has a sweet engine. I like 4-stroke power, it is just easy to get down to the ground and that makes it easy to ride for a long time. The suspension was just spot-on for woods riding...it was good on a MX track as well. The KDX was not happy on the track - at all.
For what's its worth, Wolf hated the WR. Later that year he sold the KDX and bought a KTM 250EXC...a bike that he loves.

I know many hard core woods guys who swear by the kdx... Probably one of the best ever for woods only riding...
