Need to find the right bike

im 15 and have been thinking about purchasing a dirtbike for on and off road use. getting a summer job at giant so added to my 500 dollas already im looking at a 2 grand budget. i was lookin gat the kawasaki kdx200 bu7t the only problem is can it be converted to be street leagl. somebeody mentioned a daul sport kit but whatever i apreciate the info you may or may not give to me.

Depends on where you live, I live in Michigan, and several folks here have made there XR's, KDX's and KTM's street legal. Go to your Dept of Motorvehicles and ask them for the form to make your offroad motorcycle street legal. Here in Michigan you need a brake light switch, DOT tires, a mirror, some kind of horn, and front hi-lo beam and i think that is about it. It is overall an easy process, but you also will have to get an endorsement or learners permit. Good luck, the kdx is a great bike and you should be able to get a nice one with that budget, I owned 2 of them and where very reliable and fun to work on.
