cr80 vs cr85

ok, me and my dad are thinking about buying a 1996 cr80rE, its not in the best of shape engine wise but its totally rideable. I was planning on getting a 125 but after riding the 80 i realized i wasnt as good as i thought i was. Hence my dad gave me and altimatum(sp?) either wait 2 or 3 months to get the 125 or get the cr80 for 700 and ride it for one full year. Well this has been on my mind alot, so im thinking about asking him if we could just get a better condition used cr85 oe left over cr85. Is there a huge power difference between the 80 and the 85?, ive ridden the 80 enough to know when i power kicks on and its characteristics and such.

I would get the cr80 fro 700. Learn how to fix it with your dad. (Trust me on this one) and then when your ready move on to a bigger bike.
