I'm in the prosses of looking for another YZ250 (sold my 99YZ250) and the big question is,is the 5lbs and new forks worth it.I understand the 05 handles about the same and the motor hasnt changed much since 03.I can get some decent prices on 03/04 bikes with pipes, reeds and suspension work all ready done for 2000--2500 less.It will be mainly MX track ridden.

Saw a guy the other day with a brand new left over 03' YZ250 that he got for a really good price...Looked good and looked and sounded really strong...Looked very stable...
I'd go for it...The prices these days for a dirtbike have gotten crazy...A new 250 for over $6000 ? Crazy!
If you get that 03/04 YZ 250 you could have a very nicely set up bike for much less than that !
