Hi,
I have a dead KDX200 1991 model.
It's been pretty neglected and my daughters boyfriend is asking for help on this his first ever bike.

i have checked out the carb, the reed valve and they are ok so it off with it's head... so to speak

Has anyone got instructions on the head, cylinder and power valve removal , inspection and reinstallation?

I suspect its something to do with the powervalve but my expirience with this is zero.

Can anyone offer some usefull advice ... apart from a match and a gallon of petrol?

Unfortunatley i do not have a service manual for this bike.

Read all of the stuff on 2strokes on Eric Gorr's website (see link to left). It is quite informative and gives great rebuilding tips.
