kx 85 probmlem

hi i got a kx85 2000/2001 the problem was i went up the gears too quick and it is now stuck in 2nd gear i have got the engine out the bike and i cant get the side casing off i have got all the bolts out of the casing. it seems like something is holding the eingine together from inside has anyone had a problem like this and how do i get the side casng off

Did you take the waterpump impeller off?
