R304 Seilencer

I'm looking into buying an R304 shorty silencer off of **** auction site and wondering if this will fit my 2002 YZ250. The guy says it fits a 98' YZ250 and may also fit other years. Need some info about the brackets that bolt into place and will this work on my bike.....

Rocky Mountain only shows that silencer for little bikes now, but the "Race Cap Shorty" shows different part numbers for those years. I just bought one of those for my '05 and it says "R304" on it, if that means anything...
